The Legal Innovation Lab is a team of Canadians with expertise in digital marketing, UX/UI design, web application development, videography, and legal education.
We are offering our services to Canadian lawyers for free.
Our mission is to empower lawyers with the financial incentives needed to solve some important access to justice issues. Access to justice requires public funding and volunteers, but we’ll solve these complex issues faster when lawyers can generate more revenue by solving access issues.
Currently we are accepting applications to collaborate on automated DIY legal education products. For DIY solutions to actually solve access issues, they must adhere to the existing rules of a particular jurisdiction. The automated DIY legal education products we envision are premium legal education products that include beautiful user design, flawless technology, and authoritative instructional videos. Further, we have the digital marketing expertise to get these premium legal education products directly to the people that can’t afford professional lawyer services.
Thousands of consumers are spending zero dollars on legal solutions, and more than 80% of legal issues are handled by non-lawyers.

We lead the product development and then take responsibility for marketing, selling, and updating the products. This includes, managing the terms of the sale, customer service, refunds, and other inquiries. A significant portion of each sale is paid to you. Your only ongoing responsibility is to stay current with the relevant rules and to update us so that our products continue to adhere to the existing rules.

Our desire is that this is a frictionless experience for all collaborators. We want your passive income to exclude any risk or uncertainty related to legal liability. We believe that though the perceived risk of harm to consumers is not nominal, those risks can be properly mitigated, primarily by collaborating with local practice area experts that commit to assisting with product updates when relevant rules change.

DIY legal education services are widely available in the United States, and the market data demonstrates that DIY legal education products are largely purchased by consumers that currently spend zero dollars on lawyer services. If an entrepreneur cannot afford a custom website Terms of Use document, they may be able to afford a DIY solution. Paying for the DIY solution until they can afford a custom solution expands the market for legal solutions.

Currently, the market for DIY legal education in Canada is growing at 10.4% per year. Lawyers that collaborate on priority products, even in smaller jurisdictions, can potentially earn more than $20,000 per month.

Unfortunately, they are stitching together documents from friends, family, and whatever else they can access on Google. The result is that Canadians that cannot afford professional lawyer services, remain unable to properly manage their legal risk.
Via Legal Launch, Canadian entrepreneurs pay for access to an automated template that adheres to the existing rules, and the engaging and authoritative legal education resources needed to conveniently edit the template. We also have the expertise needed to automate form submissions to government agencies where appropriate.

Legal Kits Canada is for Canadian families that cannot afford professional lawyer services. Over 60% of Canadians don’t have a will. Most common law couples don’t have a co-habitation agreement.
